Whether you are young or old, it is fundamental that we as human beings must take care of our health and well-being. Today, modern medicine has given us great options in fighting diseases and illnesses. But still, even with these advancements, it is still up to ourselves to take care of our health. Having the discipline and mindset to actively pursue better health is something that must not be shrugged off under the mat. It is important that we stay clean and healthy. But even with modern medicine, it’s not always a guarantee that it will ensure a better health.




There are many obstacles that blocks us from achieving better health. These obstacles may either be physical or psychological. But whatever they maybe, it affects our health greatly.

Diseases and illnesses are a part of life. There is always a point in our life that we have to deal with them. Amongst the greatest risk factors in dealing with disease are stress and depression. The daily grind of life, perhaps due to work or family, can add up on stress. It is not pleasant to be under stress. It’s a great risk factor because it tends to sneak up on you when you least expect it. Undue stress only shaves off your chances on being healthier. Another risk factor is depression. Depression is incredibly complex. It’s causes range from environmental, situational and genetics. Depression can come from prolonged stress from problems that arise in an individual’s life. Depression may also come from physical illness. A person who has to deal with illnesses, for example, would have to deal with the side effects of their illness for as long as he has the disease. We can always pray that these things go away but it is never a guarantee that it wont affect a person’s health and well being in the long run.

Everything we do is connected to our health. Having a mindset of pursuing better health is the first step in the pursuit of happiness. That mindset is called WELLNESS. Having better health is an important life decision. It is perhaps the most important decision one has to take in their life. Wellness is a lifestyle choice. Although, better health can be elusive at times because of circumstance, it shouldn't take a backseat in the decisions we make. Better health means a longer time to be able to work and enjoy our lives. Life is hard but we can make it easier when we decide to live a life of wellness.
